When online financial education platform IM Academy holds its IM Beyond event in Arizona from Sept. 15-18, students, educators, and independent business owners will gather to discuss financial education. The event, which will be held in Glendale and the surrounding Phoenix area, will feature several speakers and opportunities for in-person mentorship for those who are involved with IM Academy. Among the speakers will be Carolyn Boroden, a world-renowned financial educator known for her expertise on time-based Fibonacci market exchange strategies.
In addition to Boroden, IM Academy co-founders Christopher Terry and Isis Terry are scheduled to speak at Gila River Arena in Glendale.
About Carolyn Boroden and Fibonacci Strategies
Boroden is a technical analyst and author of the book Fibonacci Trading: How to Master the Time and Price Advantage, published by McGraw Hill in 2008. She has over 40 years of experience engaging in a variety of financial markets, beginning her career on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange in 1978. She is a respected analyst whose work is often featured on the “Off The Charts” segment of CNBC’s Mad Money with Jim Cramer.
In addition to running her own online academy focused on Fibonacci ratios and chart analysis, Boroden has been an analyst at elliottwavetrader.net since 2019. She covers indexes and markets such as the S&P 500, Nasdaq 100, gold, and oil, and provides insights on the stocks of companies including Apple, Amazon, Alphabet, Nvidia, and Tesla.
Boroden was chosen as a speaker by IM Academy for her work educating students on market time frames and applying Fibonacci ratios to markets. This approach, which IM Academy teaches through its Time-Based (TBX) Academy and other academies, is based on identifying key retracement points in markets derived from the Fibonacci sequence of numbers.
The Fibonacci sequence is a recursive, infinite series of numbers in which each number is the sum of the two numbers that precede it. For example, its first 10 numbers are: 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34. Each Fibonacci number is approximately 1.618 times larger than the preceding number, and 1.618 has been called the “golden ratio” for its surprising prevalence throughout art and the natural world.
In terms of trading, the golden ratio, its inverse (.618), and other ratios based on the Fibonacci sequence are applied to market activity to identify the direction and high and low points of trends, with analysts predicting which markets will approach various percentage increases or decreases based on Fibonacci ratios.
